All cars were painted in acrylic enamel where Dodge offered 16 Colors for the Challenger each model year.

Metallic paint was an option at extra cost and also the *Hi-impact colors offered for the ´72 and ´73 model years only.

The vinyl roof option was available in Black (V1X), White (V1W) and Green (V1F) and for ´73 and ´74 also in Gold (V1Y), which already apeared on ´71 models.

The restyled front-grille was finished in silver paint for Base and black paint for Ralte models
 
The rear panel is finished in argent silver (rough finish paint) on Standard models and in flat-black paint on Rallye versions. The inner part surrounding the tail-light-lenses are painted in a contrary way on each version. Base Challenger rear panel

The only sport stripes that survived for the ´72-´74 models are the strobe-type side stripes on Rallye models available in black or white.


For ´73-´74 Standad models there were optional accent stripes that traced the upper contours of the body in 6 possible colours (White, Black, Light Brigt Blue, Medium Gold, Light Green and Parchment)

On the 72-74 models the chromed metal “Challenger” nameplate was located in the front grill and and on the left and right end of the quarters panels there was a self-adhesive chromed plastic badge.
